Welcome to Honiton’s Community & Arts Venue
The Beehive is an award-winning community venue in Honiton, East Devon with a programme of live events, cinema & space for community activities, performing arts, visual art exhibitions, workshops, meetings and conferences. Since opening in 2014, we’ve welcomed over 59,000 people to the building each year. The venue is run by a charity and used by over 80 community organisations and special interest groups. We aim to create a vibrant and stimulating centre that engages, challenges, entertains, supports educates and encompasses our whole community.
The Beehive is required to close for the national lockdown.
For booking enquiries, please phone and leave a message with the box office 01404 384050 and we will call you back.
The cancellation of events and room-hire means we need supplementary funding in order to survive. If you are able to make a donation, it would be hugely appreciated. Click here to donate.
We confirm we have complied with the government’s guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19.
Please review our COVID-19 guidance for audiences.

Event Details
In partnership with Carn to Cove.
Jonny is a teacher, a workshop leader and an avid football fan. He’s just become a father. His friends say that he’s outgoing and that he loves music, festivals and nightclubs. Jonny is deaf. He was born deaf to hearing parents who were afraid that disability would stigmatise their son and the family.
Louder Is Not Always Clearer is an honest portrayal of the vulnerability of a deaf man, created and performed by a deaf man. For a hearing audience, it is an illuminating and emotional experience. … For all audiences it is a humorous and at times moving story of one man’s attempt to cope, to fit in and be accepted.
