We began February with two packed out screenings of Greta Gerwig’s beautiful, faithful, adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott classic ‘Little Women’
For Star Wars fans we have ‘The Rise of Skywalker’(12A) at 7.30pm on Fri 7th a fast-moving, action-packed, swashbuckling swords ‘n’ sorcery space opera starring Daisy Ridley and the wonderful Adam Driver as Kylo Ren.
On Sat 8th ‘Flats & Sharps,’ the fab four Cornish lads return to the Beehive with their Bluegrass energy, lush harmonies and stonking solos. Come along for a great gig!
There’s a filmed live performance of the Tony award-winning musical ‘Kinky Boots’(12A) on Fri 14th ★★★★ ‘A glorious high-kicking romp’ – Evening Standard. Since winning the 2016 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, Kinky Boots is the winner of every major Best Musical award and is the hottest show in town!
Dick Whittington is our fun-filled Panto for all the family over the half-term holidays. With a cat, a camel, a lot of laughs, songs and sumptuous costumes, this will be a treat from our very talented Honiton Community Theatre Company. The show runs from Tue 18th until Saturday 22nd of February.
On Thursday 27th at 2pm we have ‘Bedknobs & Broomsticks’(PG). This wonderful Disney classic will have us all singing and bobbing along with Angela Lansbury and David Tomlinson- everyone and anyone is very welcome to this Dementia and family-friendly film.
The ultimate Phil Collins era Genesis show is coming to the Beehive on Fri 28th with ‘Genesis- Visible Touch’, a brilliant tribute to Phil Collins and Genesis with a great line up of excellent musicians. Expect old classics alongside hits such as “Turn It On Again”, “Misunderstanding” and “Follow You Follow Me”.
Finally, on Saturday 29th Feb at 7.30pm we have a very special fundraising concert for The Forget Me Not project and Honiton Dementia Action Alliance – ‘The Truth About Love: Bizet to Broadway’, a delightful evening of musical entertainment full of popular tunes from the worlds of opera and musical theatre. All proceeds from this one-off performance will go towards supporting people living with Dementia in the Honiton area through the charities Action East Devon and Honiton Dementia Alliance. Tickets are £10 in advance and £12 on the door- if any are left!
