In October, The Beehive launched a new comedy night for Honiton and beyond!
Folk who’ve been to any of the comedy clubs in Bridport, Lyme and Exeter will have seen how local comedian Tom Glover builds a brilliant rapport with his audience as he cleverly comperes the evening. Last month it was Honiton’s turn to have the cream of West Country comedians for a special comedy club at The Beehive with “The Comedy Avengers!”
Due to popular demand, The Comedy Avengers return in November. Tom has arranged a great selection of comedians to perform on Thursday 23rd Nov 8pm at The Beehive and the tickets are only £6 if bought in advance and £8 on the door. It will be suitable for age 16+.
The coalition of comics has been hosting regular comedy nights in the south west for the past year as well as performing at a number of big festivals. They perform nationwide on the professional circuit and have won numerous awards between them, offering a variety of styles including props, one-liners and musical comedy as well as straightforward stand-up.
The regular members of the group are Luke Honnoraty, Sandi Smith, Louis Burgess Tom Glover, David Arnold, Richard James, Alf, Frankie Dore and Honiton’s own Marcus Gill.
Marcus will be a familiar face to many as Honiton’s own friendly local fishmonger but he’s also a talented stand-up comedian with a reputation for his insights into life as a nerd which have seen him perform across the country at various comic book conventions as well as on the regular UK circuit.
“I’m really pleased we’ve been able to get a show at the Beehive, he said. “The Comedy Avengers shows have been popular wherever we’ve taken them as we offer such a variety of comedians all from the local area and we genuinely love performing together which gives the nights a great atmosphere.
“I hope the people of Honiton will come along and enjoy the show. If we’re able to get a good sized crowd on a regular basis and prove that there is an audience for comedy in Honiton then we’ll be able to get some really big acts down in the future.”
So come along and have a laugh!
