We are all looking forward to the summer holidays with some sensational films and fabulous family shows.
Very appropriately we have Cliff Richard starring in ‘Summer Holiday’ for our July Nostalgic cinema treat on Fri 27th July at 2pm, I’m sure there’ll be lots of folk coming for a good sing-along to this one! Only £3.50 and a free tea & biccies with great company in the cafe.
There’s ‘The Bookshop’ (PG) starring Bill Nighy, Emily Mortimer and Patricia Clarkson, sparking off each other in this adaptation of the Penelope Lively novel. A great all female, comedy heist movie with ‘Oceans 8’(12A) is on Fri 10th August and is followed by the family (rom)comedy film ’Patrick’(PG) on Sat 11th about a naughty pug which has been left to a newly qualified teacher who really doesn’t know quite what to with him!!
Then there is the beautiful award-winning, drama animation about a young Afghan girl who is forced to disguise herself as a boy in order to feed her family-‘The Breadwinner’ (12A) on Fri 17th Aug.
Romance is in the air and Andre Rieu, the King of the Waltz will be performing his annual summer concert in a special delayed live screening ‘My Tribute to Love’ on Sat 18th Aug at 3pm and 7.30pm.
Everyone’s favourite family of superheroes is back in ‘Incredibles 2’(PG) for 3 showings at our cinema on Fri 24th August 2pm & 6pm and on Sat 25th at 10am.
Then we have 3 screenings of the film we’ve all been waiting for ‘Mamma Mia: Here we go again!’(PG) get your tickets early for this one and prepare to sing, dance, laugh and love all over again!
Our wonderful selection of live family theatre kicks off with the return of Honiton Community Theatre Company producing another smash-hit family musical ‘The Wind in The Willows’- everyone knows about the impulsive Mr Toad, but what are Badger Ratty and Mole to do with him?! 1st-4th Aug.
On Thursday 9th Aug 6pm we have ‘The Tale of The Cockatrice’- a hideous creature awakes deep in the vaults of an ancient priory; can a humble nun defeat the beast? For children aged 5- 13 and siblings.
The Magic Garden is a charming, multi-sensory show for children aged 2-6 at 10.30am on Thursday 16th August.
In the midst of all this is our Beehive acoustic café on Weds 9th Aug and our one live gig on Sat 25th Aug, ‘The Darkside of Pink Floyd’ one of the UK’s top tribute bands.
Hopefully, there is something for everyone.
