From Friday Sept 12th you can dance away the afternoon at The Beehive. All the traditional ballroom and latin dances plus modern freestyle and American jitterbug dances. But this is not strictly, strictly, just strictly fun! Sure the tempos will be hot and on point but you don’t even have to dance because we have LIVE music that you can just relax to & enjoy. Popular local group ‘must B MAD’, featuring three talented & versatile singers, will perform music from the last 7 decades covering a huge variety of musical genres. That’s not all! The tea will be a special afternoon tea with homemade cakes, lovingly prepared and served to you during the afternoon by Beehive volunteers.
Dances will include: foxtrot, waltz, quickstep, rumba, cha cha cha, viennese waltz, samba, jive, rock & roll and maybe the more exotic ones too. Music will be swing, country, rock, blues, latin, jazz and much more. If you have a special request – song or dance – just ask!
We will be aiming to fill tables of 6 to 10 persons to serve selections of the afternoon tea to, along with tea or coffee, but we can also accommodate smaller groups, pairs or solos. And just in case you fancy a glass of your favourite tipple the bar will be open too.
The fun starts at 2:00pm with tea served at 3:00 and finish at 4:30pm.
Booking is recommended but not essential, and the cost? Just £7.50, to include the scrumptious afternoon tea. Table bookings of 8 or more in one name (or company) attract a discount of 15%.
The dances will then be held every second Friday in the month, so put them in your diary and phone or see our website for tickets.
