Bob Williams photographic exhibition 3rd Jan – 7th Feb

Local photographer Bob Williams has lived in the Honiton area for most of his life and as a teenager Bob took a keen interest in photography; he and his two friends re-opened the school darkroom that had been closed for many years. This enthusiasm continued, and in 1993, he enrolled on a five-year Distinctions Course in applied photography. Within that time he compiled ten portfolios – all at distinction level. He graduated with the award of the Associateship of The Royal Photograph Society, ARPS.

Bob says: ” photography – it’s a passion that inspires and motivates me to capture the interesting subjects around me. I get immense pleasure from using my fully manual 35mm and 6×7 medium-format film cameras, and hand-held light-meter to achieve the correct exposure. This is my picture-taking technique, enabling me to feel more in control – part of the whole process of making a fine, silver gelatin print.”

“Bob is a perfectionist: his creative ability and technical skills have also enabled him to take stunning black and white photographs, including landscape. Bob’s work has been exhibited across the West Country, and at The Royal Photographic Society, Bath. His photographs have been published in books and magazines since 1996.”        Ron Frampton FRPS
