Bringing the best of British Theatre to Honiton

Starting this January, The Beehive will be screening a trio of award-winning and critically acclaimed productions from National Theatre Live, bringing the best of British theatre to a local screen.

Tom Stoppard’s Olivier Award-winning new play Leopoldstadt (12A) is a passionate drama of love, family and endurance. Filmed live on stage in London’s West End, ‘Tom Stoppard’s masterpiece is magnificent’ (Independent) and should not be missed. It screens on Thursday, January 27th at 7 pm.

The Book of Dust: La Belle Sauvage (12A) is broadcast live from London’s Bridge Theatre on Thursday, February 17th at 7 pm. Eighteen years after his ground-breaking production of His Dark Materials at the National Theatre, director Nicholas Hytner returns to Philip Pullman’s parallel universe with this gripping adaptation in which waters are rising, and storms are brewing.

Henry V (12A) is being screened live from the Donmar Warehouse in London on Thursday, April 21st at 7 pm. Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) plays the title role in Shakespeare’s thrilling study of nationalism, war and the psychology of power. This exciting modern production directed by Max Webster (Life of Pi) explores what it means to be English and our relationship with Europe, asking: do we ever get the leaders we deserve?
