JANUARY 15th. “What’s all the fuss about?” by David Ramsden MBE. Melting polar ice caps, rising sea levels, deforestation, wildfires, droughts, cars and greenhouse gases. What can we do to help make a better world for our children and grandchildren?

FEBRUARY 12th. “The Cloth Trade of Georgian Devon” by Dr. Todd Gray. Woollen cloth was Devon’s most important export from the 1500s until the early 1800s. In this lecture Dr. Gray will outline how Exeter became the centre of European serge production.

APRIL 16th. “A West Country Girl of Colour” by Jacquie Felix-Mitchell. This talk gives listeners an insight into her life as a person of colour living in the West Country.

MAY 21st. “Falling with Style” by Lottie Dale. Offering an in-depth and often amusing overview of her Skydiving days.

JUNE 18th. “Children’s Hospice South West.” A talk by Mary Gray. Children’s Hospice South West operates Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, North Devon and cares for children with life-threatening conditions and cares for and supports them and their families for as long as is needed.

JULY 16th. “Shark and Wildlife Photography” by Mark Taylor Hutchinson. Mark is a Sidmouth-based wildlife photographer, with a background in dive photo-journalism and a passion for sharks. He is also a wildlife artist.

SEPT 17th. “Otters: Coming to a River Near You” by Stephen Powles. Stephen’s talk will cover, amongst other things, their “design features” and their behaviour.
