Happy New Year!

What a wondrous 2014 it’s been for the Beehive. We are all pretty exhausted after the final run up to Xmas because it has been so very busy. The Christmas Party was fantastic, a sell out success and even better because we had a wonderful team of young volunteers from the Community college who waited tables and helped with the dishes, which gave our volunteers the opportunity to party! Many thanks to them and to all of our terrific volunteers, they really are the lifeblood of the Beehive and what a team they are!

With New Year’s resolutions fast approaching, please think about signing up to help out here, it’s a great way of meeting other friendly folk, acquiring new skills or teaching others some of yours. We are a welcoming bunch and always very happy to receive help in whatever form, whether it be technical, marketing, poster & leaflet distribution, setting up for events, welcoming & stewarding for shows or serving in the café bar. Come along and see what you may like to do. Volunteering is very good for your wellbeing, it’s official!

It has been brilliant that so many people have come to Honiton’s new venue, absolutely loved it and brought their friends back for other events. We are seeing a lot of repeat business at the box office and the comments book is positively overflowing with glowing compliments, from how friendly the volunteers are, to how fabulous the food is and what a fantastic show they have just seen.

Our community classes and events continue to grow and offer an even more diverse selection of things to do. The New Year is a perfect time for resolving to get fit AND have fun, forget the gym, get on the dance floor, we have LeRoc modern Jive, Belly dancing, Line Dancing, ballet for adults and children, along with modern and tap, there is also Salsa DX on Thursday mornings and Upbeat Street Dance, with a family ‘jump in’ for all ages, on Saturday 10th Jan. Our monthly Beehive Tea dances are proving increasingly popular, so do sample the next one on Friday 9th January at 2pm.

A HUGE thank you to all who have supported the Beehive, we look forward to welcoming you back to our exciting events and classes in 2015 and wish you a very Happy New Year!
