It’s your community centre

On the Saturday of the opening week we invited all clubs, societies, associations and charities to come with a stand to advertise their activities and to sign up new members.

Check out our room hire rates and talk to us about your future needs. Whilst The Beehive has to be self sustaining, we want it to be at the centre of community activity and we will endeavour to accommodate as many activities as we can.

Above is the Sweet Honi ‘n’ Soul Choir which has been a supporter of the Beehive since just after the choir was formed in 2011. To date they have raised over £1000 to assist with internal equipment. Sweet Honi… is a community rock choir with around 70 members and an age range of 16 to 70 plus. They sing 5 part arrangements of favourite songs, many of which are suggested by choir members. People have remarked on a ‘spiritual’ quality in their performances. That probably comes from their family ethos, they’re  really just a big bunch of friends singing the songs they love as well as they can. There are no entrance requirements for Sweet Honi ‘n’ Soul and there is no audition. Choir director Andy believes that every person has a voice and that when people find their voice they discover more confidence to face the challenges that life brings. They meet at 7.30 pm on Tuesdays in term time, currently at Millwater school, transferring to the Beehive when it becomes available. There are more details on their website www.sweethoni.co.uk
