17th May saw the Beehive café used as a venue in its own right for the first time when Philip Clouts returned (following his successful evening with his jazz quartet earlier in the month) to play piano, with Tony Roberts on the sax, flute and clarinet, at the inaugural Jazz Café.
Tickets sold out very quickly and the capacity audience of 40 people enjoyed an evening which included a delicious supper followed by two hours of excellent jazz from this very creative duo.
The Beehive will be running its Jazz Café every month – the next date is 21 June, when Philip is accompanied by popular and versatile guitarist, Jesse Molins.
Book your tickets as soon as they are available, this is likely to be another sell out event.
