We are currently offering a variety of opportunities that are flexible and can fit around your other commitments. Previous experience is preferable but full training can be given to all volunteer roles. Volunteers must be over 18 years.

Who we are – The Beehive is a community venue in the heart of the market town of Honiton with a programme of live events, cinema & space for community activities, performing arts, exhibitions, workshops, meetings and conferences. We welcome over 59,000 people to the building each year. The venue is run by a charity and used by over 80 community organisations and special interest groups. We aim to create a vibrant and stimulating centre that engages, challenges, entertains, supports, educates and encompasses our whole community.

The Beehive’s volunteering opportunities include stewarding for cinema & live events.
Café work with flexible daytime hours. Bar work with flexible evening hours.
A film Tech / Projectionist and Room & Stage Set-up.

Becoming a volunteer and making a difference in your community has great benefits like learning new skills, sharing experiences and it builds your confidence whilst getting to meet new, like-minded people in your local area.

Read Julie’s story about becoming a steward and bar volunteer…
‘I re-located from Birmingham to Honiton (via Cranbrook) in 2023. I love helping and giving back.  I’ve volunteered in many guises in the past including fundraising for the RSPCA, working in an Extra Care charity shop and walking dogs for the Cinnamon Trust.  Being a volunteer is rewarding for my soul and makes me happy.
Whilst living in Cranbrook, I came to a show at the Beehive with friends and just loved the venue and everything it provides for the local community and more.  I immediately felt connected and wanted to ‘work’ at the Beehive.  I was told about volunteering opportunities and as soon as I moved to Honiton in 2023, I filled in a form.  My Beehive journey began in November 2023 and I volunteer now in the bar and as a steward and I love it!
Working at The Beehive feels like I’m part of the community, volunteering with like-minded people who are all about ‘giving back’ their time.  As a newbie to Devon, it’s a good way for me to get to know others in the area and establish some links to Honiton.’

Our mission at The Beehive is to create a vibrant and inclusive community hub, dedicated to providing a diverse range of activities which cater to the individual interests of all our clientele, within an environment that is always friendly and welcoming.

If you’re interested and have time to spare, come and join us and our friendly team!
