The Beehive welcomes the appointment of Karen Wilson to the charity’s board.
A familiar face to many, Karen has been a volunteer at The Beehive since it first opened in 2014. She can often be seen working at the Box Office or as a steward for events which she enjoys immensely.
Karen says, “After working within Devon County Council for more than 30 years, I took early retirement to allow me to spend more time with my family and pursue other interests. I now work part-time as an administrator in my son-in-law’s company. For the last eight years, I have been Secretary of Honiton & District Carnival and have been a member of the Honiton Community Theatre Company for more than 20 years, where I am kept busy running the costume department. I’ve also recently become a trustee of the company.”
“I feel extremely proud of The Beehive and the facilities it’s able to offer the community, both local and further afield. I decided to put myself forward as a Charity Board Member so I could become a link to engage charity members with the board, to put forward ideas and views to help ensure the continued success of The Beehive.”
Karen’s experience, enthusiasm and insight will be invaluable to the charity moving forward.
The Beehive will continue to develop its board and welcomes expressions of interest from anyone with relevant skills and passion for driving its continuing success. We are committed to having a diverse board that promotes equity, diversity and inclusion, and so very much welcome applications from people who will bring difference to our team. If you are passionate about what culture provides for our community, we would be pleased to hear from you.
