New volunteers evening – Mon 22nd June 7.30pm

Building upon the success of our past year The Beehive would like to invite any member of the public who feels they may have some spare time or skills that they are happy to share with their local community centre. We have a great group of friendly volunteers and are looking to expand as a result of the Beehive’s growing popularity.

This informal evening is for people to find out what is involved in the running of a busy, thriving, community centre, meet some of the team and suss out the diverse range of opportunities and skills that one can learn or bring to the Beehive.

Volunteering should be a two-way process – the volunteer enjoys the task and has rewards in seeing other people enjoying themselves;  there is also the sense of achievement in using skills and in working with others. The Beehive is an attractive place in which to spend time and join in the community.

Many people are in employment or have other commitments but there are a variety of volunteering opportunities that can fit around most of these.

Our volunteers help in these areas: reception/box office, front of house, stewards, café bar staff, room set-up, technical, admin, publicity. A Duty Manager is available at all times that the volunteers are in the building, ensuring that there is no lone working and there is always someone to ask for advice. Full training is given on box office, till, bar etc.

Everyone is very welcome and there are tasks great and small, no commitment necessary but very welcome!
