Tamsin writes: After growing up in rural Suffolk, I went to university in Sheffield, Reading and Lund, Sweden, graduating with a BA in Archaeology. As a professional Archaeologist, I worked in the field, discovering and drawing remains from the past, and then in the office, preparing reports and illustrations for publication, including writing and designing a popular booklet on the Princesshay Excavations, Exeter. I was lucky enough to work on many large and important sites in York, Oxford, Hampshire, Exeter and in France.
After my children were born I became a full-time artist, creating vibrant and colourful collages on canvas and board. I work on new collages daily, always experimenting with new ways to use the beautiful diversity of the colours and textures in the magazines. My work is inspired by the movement of people through beautiful and fragile spaces – the countryside, the coastline or our historic landscape. All my collages are 100% recycled and are finished with a UV resistant varnish.
