The Beehive donates £3,000 to local charities

Honiton Community Complex, which runs The Beehive, has given £2,000 to TRIP and £1,000 to Hospiscare.

David Perkins, a Director of Honiton Community Complex said “We’re happy to be able to make this donation towards the on-going work of TRIP community transport association. TRIP provide a fantastic community service helping the elderly, disabled, socially excluded and rurally isolated attend medical appointments and trips out. This includes transporting people on outings to The Beehive so that they can enjoy the entertainment and benefit from the community activities on offer in this accessible venue. Over the last few years, with the kind support of Co-op funeral care, TRIP have brought many people to our dementia-friendly Nostalgic Cinema screenings. It’s important to us all that The Beehive has a wide-reaching impact within our community. TRIP are one of our key local partners who help us in this mission.”

In addition, a donation of £1,000 was made to Hospiscare in recognition of the invaluable work they do to improve the conditions of life for residents in Honiton and East Devon.  In total for the year ending March 2017 The Beehive has supported local community groups to the tune of £8,830.
