Our fantastically, exciting news is that we will now be live streaming a selection of ballets and operas from the Royal Opera House with More2screen.We begin the season with two Royal Ballet productions; “ANASTASIA” on Wednesday 2nd Nov, and “THE NUTCRACKER” on Thursday 8th Dec
Natalia Osipova dances the lead role of Anastasia in Kenneth Macmillan’s compelling exploration of identity in the turbulent wake of the Russian revolution.
The Royal Ballet celebrates Peter Wright’s 90th Birthday with his much loved production of The Nutcracker, a real Christmas treat!
We also have Branagh Live Theatre streaming of “The Entertainer” starring Kenneth Branagh from the Garrick theatre at 7pm on Thursday 27th Oct.
There are some great films to look forward to with “Swallows and Amazons” (PG) on Friday 7th Oct and the wonderfully weird “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” (12A) on Sat Oct 29th.Tickets are also selling fast for “Bridget Jones’s Baby” on Fri 4th Nov. For those who like fast paced, action thrillers we have Jason Statham in “Mechanic: Resurrection” (15) on Fri 14th Oct. Our classic movie this month is “From Here to Eternity” (PG) on Monday 24th Oct at 2pm, this is a dementia friendly screening and everyone is very welcome, for only £3.50, a cup of tea, biscuits and a chat in the café bar are included!
Some excellent live music comes to The Beehive this month and throughout the Autumn, “Flats & Sharps”, the golden boys of the Bluegrass, Country/Folk scene are in great demand ,they were so fabulous when they came in 2014 we just had to get them back, precision plucking and beautiful harmonies with great banter in between, book now! Sat 8th Oct 8pm with support from Owen & Friends.
“Sweet Black Angels” also return in their hotly anticipated home town gig. Firm favourites locally, this 5 piece indie folk, rock band is guaranteed to get the crowd going with a stonkingly good night out! Sat 15th Oct doors 7pm, 8pm support from Brent Nelson.
On Weds 12th Oct at 8pm, Terry Stacey will be hosting our free Acoustic café in the bar, do come along either to listen to our local talent play and perform or have a go yourself!
On Sunday 30th Oct at 7.30pm we have “Mawkin”.This immensely talented group are Brit Folk’s brightest new 5 piece, they fuse folk, blues & rock. Unapologetically energetic they play a wholly edgier version of folk. Recently toured supporting Bellowhead and are definitely a band well worth following, they’re going places!
Finally this month we have an extra special treat, our first live Opera on Friday 28th Oct at 7.30pm we have the Pop Up Opera performing Rossini’s comic masterpiece, “The Barber Of Seville”-“A 2hr explosion of beautiful music, top class singing & exceptional acting” The Times.
