The Beehive in September

The rain is here to signal the end of a glorious summer and as the nights draw in it’s time to think’ Let’s Party!!’ Get down to the Beehive where we have some terrific gigs lined up for you, starting with the gorgeous sounds of “INDIA ELECTRIC Co” on Sat Sept 10th. If you haven’t seen these lovely local lads, Cole and Joseph, you need to book NOW! The tickets are selling fast. Support is Ergo Schmidt, also a local lad.

For a get up and dance ‘til you drop affair, the funky, soul sounds of “MR JEAN”, a fab, fun band who play everything from 70’s disco classics, French House & Pop into more recent hits will be partying on Friday 16th Sept at 8pm.There are special student tickets available for this gig.

We are really excited to be welcoming back “BIRTHDAY GIRLS” on Sat 24th Sept with their brand new comedy sketch show, which has had rave reviews at Edinburgh.

Sue King is hosting a special Jewish themed Beehive folk café this month on Weds 14th Sept, hoping that folk may get into the swing of things before the Jewish New Year begins, how about a bit of Bob Dylan?!

There are some great films coming up, including the classic Cole Porter Musical starring Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra in “HIGH SOCIETY” (U)  on Friday 23rd Sept at 2pm Followed by Brian Cox giving a great comic performance as a curmudgeonly old chap in ”THE CARER”(12A) at 7.30pm that evening. We also have the latest fast-paced action, thriller “JASON BOURNE” (12A) on Sat 17th Sept at 7.30pm. Then there is the hotly anticipated techno- thriller “NERVE” (15) Starring Emma Roberts and Dave Franco, this truth or dare, action adventure is on Fri 30th Sept at 7.30pm and has had some fantastic reviews.

We are also about to announce our Royal Opera House Live event screenings so please do keep your eye out for those, we are tremendously pleased to be able to offer these as they have been widely requested.

There’s more comedy with the O& O Comedy show on Fri 21st Oct and on Friday 28th we have “Pop-Up Opera” performing Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” and Kenneth Branagh’s Live screening of “The Entertainer” is on Thurs 27th Oct at 7.15pm
