Writing for Wellbeing course

Clive Essame will be running a “Writing for Wellbeing” six week course starting in January. It will be an opportunity for people to explore the creative process of writing, without self criticism or pressure to “get it right”.

Workshops are run with a sense of freedom through experimenting with ideas, feelings and words, working alongside others with similar interests.

Considered and planned exercises throughout the course with the freedom to respond to the exercises in a way that is appropriate to you.

  • Feel more positive about your life
  • Be more positive about your writing
  • Find techniques to quieten your “inner critique”
  • Be encouraged to continue writing in your own time
  • Consider and write in response to stimulus provided by the tutor

I had taken part in Clives groups not knowing how powerful it would be in calming the tension I was experiencing. Doing the exercises allowed me to express some of the feelings in a creative way. Being able to do this made those feelings more manageable. J.L.
